These application checklists include important information and links that will help you apply to the University of Michigan:
Interested veteran applicants can visit the U-M Office for Undergraduate Admissions website, which features information specifically for the veterans and military-connected community. From here, you can also explore:
- The list of undergraduate degree programs available to first-year and transfer students (be sure to go to the website for the school or college you are looking at – they may have additional requirements for admission and even different application procedures)
- Resources to learn more about campus and the university
- Specific application steps for transfer students
- Deadlines and policies specific to transfer students
Prospective graduate students can explore potential academic programs by visiting The Rackham Graduate School program listings or by visiting the website of one of U-M's schools or colleges.
First-Year Students: An “undergraduate first-year student” is defined as any student who has not earned any transferable credits from a post-secondary institution.
Transfer Students: A “transfer student” is defined as a student with credits from a post-secondary institution earned after high school. Students who attended UM-Dearborn or UM-Flint students are considered new transfer students when applying to the University of Michigan. The majority of our U-M veterans applied as transfer students.
